MUMBAI (Reuters) – Karate, sport mountain climbing, and baseball/softball have been brought to the program for the 2022 Asian Games at Hangzhou, taking the number of permitted sports at the event to forty, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) said on Wednesday. The three are already a part of next year’s Olympic Games in Tokyo, so one can characteristic a total of 33 sports. The OCA is yet to determine the disciplines and events within the 40 sports activities but stated that fifty-one venues in nine clusters would host them. “We haven’t any doubt that the Hangzhou Asian Games could be the great ever Asian Games,” OCA Director General Husain Al Musallam stated in a declaration following the governing frame’s venue tour and 3-yr countdown rite in Hangzhou.
