The country’s Supreme Court decides to disregard the lawsuit filed by P.J. Simao, the owner of a rival golf course, Ives Hill Country Club. Simao filed the health report towards the city of Watertown, the city council members, City Manager Rick Finn, and the Watertown Golf Club. Simao wanted the court to tear up a lease that we could Watertown Golf Club use the townland in Thompson Park for 9 of the course’s holes. The contemporary hire has been renewed a couple of times, but is identical to the only one agreed to in 2000.

It’s a legal victory for the Watertown Golf Course and the town of Watertown. Simao’s lawyer argued that the 2000 hire had to be ruled void from the start because the mayor at the time, Joe Butler Sr., became on the board of directors for Watertown Golf Club. While Butler abstained from balloting on the rent, Simao’s legal professional said he did not recuse himself from the method, which the attorney said violates the town ethics code. Judge James McClusky disregarded the case. Watertown Golf Club was recently bought by developer Mike Lundy. Simao also attempted to buy the golf course. Simao stated Tuesday he plans to appeal the decision’s ruling.
