SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) — Local mixed martial arts lovers are in for a unique experience arising in May. Smokies Stadium will host its first-ever combined martial arts event on May 18. Competitors from Valor Fighting Challenge will compete in VFC fifty-nine. “We are excited to be bringing such a unique event to our baseball stadium this spring,” stated Tennessee Smokies Special Events Manager Jason Moody in a news launch. “We’re usually striving to deliver activities apart from baseball to our facility, and we’re assured that Valor Fighting Challenge will place on a wonderful display.”
“For me, baseball is proper up there with apple pie, the American Flag, and Doris Day. It’s America’s oldest and most loved recreation,” added Eric Turner, President of Valor Fighting Challenge. “MMA is the new recreation at the block, the one that hopes to a few days end up as famous, as esteemed, like baseball. Bringing the 2 of them collectively is as natural as peanut butter & jelly.” Tickets could be public admission and merely $25 for adults and best $10 for kids 12 and underneath.
